Our woodland projects…
Teaghlach Wood
We now have our fabulous honours boards complete with the names of all of you who have planted 5 or more trees with us in Teaghlach Wood. The boards will be erected at Teaghlach Wood this weekend and we are considering bringing them to The Gathering event itself! Although we are not sure how practical this will be!!
The first phase of the woodland is thriving and we will begin fencing phase two shortly.

The Whispering Wood
The Whispering Wood is shaping up to be a very special place indeed. All trees planted are marked by a special plaque engraved with the message of your choice. While there are many messages for loved ones who have passed away there are just as many messages that have been left for other reasons – such as birthdays, births and weddings! We mix all of these messages together to create a really special feel.

The Green Team is Growing…
Membership of Trees4Scotland continues to grow as more and more companies are seeing the benefits of adopting a greener approach.
Special mention needs to go to our new Oak Status members:
Chartered Surveyors Graham + Sibbald celebrated 50 years in business by planting 10 trees for every one of those years – 500 trees in total. We welcomed their Managing Partner, Ian Gillies and Jim Robb, Senior Partner, to Teaghlach Wood to cut some turf! Read more…
Whisky distillers, Chivas Brothers also gained Oak Status by planting 100 trees, and Gordon Buist came up to the site to have a look round the woodland and take a few photos.
The Old Waverley Hotel also gained Oak status and are engaging with us whole heartedly by encouraging their guests to contribute to the woodland by donating £1 from every bill. Last month they planted 34 trees!
White Van Gentlemen are a removal firm with a difference - they are every much the gentlemen of the removal profession. Operating in and around London Angus Elphinstone wanted the following message left on their Oak status plaque:
“We recognize our impact on the environment and are delighted to be taking a positive step in supporting Teaghlach Wood”
The Famous Grouse Experience is one of Perthshire’s premier tourist attractions. There has always been a close relationship between whisky, wood and Scotland and we are delighted to have them on board as Oak supporters! Located near Crieff the Famous Grouse Experience is well worth a visit and you will also be handed a special voucher for Teaghlach Wood!
Check out their website www.thefamousgrouseexperience.com
Festival Hotels were one of our first ever customers and if you need a place to stay in Edinburgh then they have a choice of seven Edinburgh hotels. In every bedroom you will find a donations envelope for trees in Teaghlach Wood!
Thanks guys and we look forward to working with you all for many years to come!
July Prize Time
In conjunction with our new relationship with The Famous Grouse Experience we would like to offer anyone who plants 5 or more trees in July 2009 the chance to win 2 adult tickets to The Famous Grouse Experience! They have a fabulous new interactive exhibit which is great fun (especially after a few drams!).
Happy Birthday ‘Graham + Sibbald’!
There are a wide variety of reasons why companies, and individuals for that matter, plant trees with us. We were particularly pleased to recently be working with chartered surveyors Graham + Sibbald as you may have noted above.
They celebrated their 50th anniversary this year and as a symbol of their commitment to invest in the future they planted 500 trees in Teaghlach Wood - 10 for each year they have been in existence.
Graham + Sibbald continue to embrace change and are proud to be at the forefront of an ever-changing property sector in a rapidly changing business environment. These newly planted trees will be a symbol of the firm’s commitment to the next 50 years.

Happy birthday and all the best for the next 50 years!
