We planted two trees outside the main terminal at Glasgow Airport on Friday 28th October with help from MSP George Adam and children from some of our Tree Amigos primary schools. The event was to unveil a plaque celebrating Glasgow Airport’s commitment and continued support of the Tree Amigos environment programme. George Adam, MSP for Paisley, said: “Trees4Scotland is making fantastic progress in restoring Scotland’s native woodland. This project, along with the involvement of local young people, will help to promote appreciation of the country’s natural habitat. Once again Glasgow Airport is playing its part in being a responsible member of Renfrewshire’s community.”
Below is a selection of photos of the event. Incidentally the trees planted are Whitebeam from the same family as the rowan. The rowan was the most appropriate tree to plant at the airport as it is known as the traveler’s tree in Celtic mythology.
We hope that if you happen to visit Glasgow Airport that you will also take a moment visit the trees!
