Scotland 'needs a billion trees'

Scotland must plant more than a billion trees if it is to meet a target of having 25% woodland cover by 2050, Forestry Commission Scotland has said.

It said enough new saplings must be planted to cover an area 25 times the size of Edinburgh.

Trees4Scotland in conjunction with The Gathering 2009 has opened a unique woodland called the Teaghlach Wood, where you can leave a living and lasting legacy by planting some trees in Highland Perthshire, Scotland.

Festival Inns go green!

We were delighted to welcome Tammie and Kim from Festival Inns to our Perthshire tree planting project this week. They both got stuck in and planted a few trees within one of our regeneration areas - and the rare piece of glamour caused a bit of a stir round the district!
